I am becoming more and more certain in what I want. I want to be a manager here at IAC. I am giving myself a deadline till the end of 2007. If it does not happen, I will have to find a place somewhere else. I am prepered to have a talk about this soon. I am prepared to announce my goals to my manager and let him know what I think and what my plans are.
It would probably be the best if he said that it’s not possible. Then I would just start looking. There is a job that looks very interesting inside the IAC in NY. It’ s for pronto.com. the one thing that I liked about that company is that they seem to have the right process to develop software. It looks better than what we have over here.
Why do I want to be a manager? Because I love to help people. I love to have a good influence. It’s just what I discovered while being a VPE at my toastmasters club. He might not agree but I am determined to do so.
Another way I can go is become an architect. That’s a possiblility but I think for me it’s more exciting to be a manager or at least move into that direction.
