  • raising kids – chinese way

I have a new goal. A writing goal. I will be an active blogger. I will write a blog entry every week. About what? Don’t know yet. But I need to find topics to write about throughout the week. My blog posts don’t need to be long. They don’t need to be fancy. They just need to appear on my blogs.

    Simple?

    Not really. Doable? You bet!

I already wrote an entry for this week last Sunday. I have this upcoming week for a new entry. I do have a few topics to write about. One of them is about a few stock picks. I could write about my goals, but I think I need to wait a bit more.

I read a really good article yesterday. About raising kids. Chinese have high success rate. They are tough on their kids. They don’t allow TV for them. They require at least one musical instrument: a piano or a violin. They accept As. Only As. They don’t allow their kids to stay long and be involved in school play. The article is here, http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704111504576059713528698754.html#mod=djemWMP_t

I think limiting TV makes a lot of sense. I suggested that to my wife yesterday. I think we’ll start soon. Don’t know exactly when. But maybe this month. Maybe next, or starting from the summer. I will push for it. A good start would be to allow it only on weekends. I should figure something out.

Having kids play instrument is close to my heart. I want them to do. I will try to get them do it.

No video games. I think so.

    No play? Not sure.
