  • vacation

I came back from vacation yesterday. My visit lasted 18 days. Not too bad, I think. Just enough, actually. Of course it’s not easy to set it up that way, so next time, I’ll just do it from Frid to Monday. That’s better, I think. Less invasive.

    How was it?

A little dissapointing, I think. I didn’t see as much as I should. But could I have? Visiting with 2 kids, one 4 yrs old, and 2nd 6 months old is not easy. Going anywhere is a hassle. So I can’t complain.

Overall, I liked it. I feel like it’s going to my 2nd home. I feel relaxed. Things are working as expected. I feel good there.

But it’s my vacation. I should be going to places, exploring. We did some of that. We went on a ride in Krakow. We saw Old Town, Kazimierz and others. We went to Wawel. It  was great to see where the ceremony took place. Very nice visit to Krakow. And not too far.

But we didn’t see Wroclaw. I wanted to see it. My wife didn’t really feel like.

We went to quite a few ceremonies. Christening, twice, and a wedding. My wife went to quite a few others.

Poland is changing. But if I had to make a move now, I would not move. Not yet, at least. Everything seems old to me. People are not that clean. Nice women? I think there are more in NY. In fact, during a stroll in NY today,  I realized that NY is a very pleasant city. It’s weird how I look at things differently after vacation.

I feel  tired today. Sleepy. Not feeling like doing work. Gotta go home and get some rest.

  • leaving tomorrow

My wife is leaving to Poland with my kids tomorrow. Oh, man, that thought still scares me. Not only that, she will be there for 2 months! How will I survive? I don’t really know. But somehow I will. It will not be easy I know.

I will be busy. I have a few things that I need more time on.

    1) I need to get my project going. I am building a store.
    2) Learn algorithms on a deep level.

That’s a lot. I need to get busy and not procrastinate. It will allow me to really learn stuff. And also get my hands dirty with a new technology.

  • going back

Today is a big day. Apple released an iPad. I might actually get it. At 9PM the president is going to deliver his state of the union. Things are happening!

America has some things going for it, Poland has some issues. It seems like my mood changes. Do I still want to go back.

Not now, not yet. But I still think it’s doable in a few years. But why?! Good question. I think the primary reason is that I think I’ll enjoy it more.

But I’m a lifelong learner! And in Poland, at least the way I feel, people are not that big on learning. Hard to say. I think it depends where you go, who you meet, where you hang out.

There are still a lot of questions that I have. For now, I am am leaning towards not going back. It’s still close to 50-50, but a few things have to change before I decide to move. That’s the bottom line.

    But what?

Mostly roads. A new president would help. Getting a good job or setting up my own will help as well.

These things are not showstoppers. They will all resolve itself. I believe they all can.

Then there is the issue of attachment.
