  • focus

I learned that I need to have my focus on doing something set right from the start! I don’t want to start on a wrong foot and out of focus.

  • work

I wonder if I should start looking for a new job. I’ve been here with NBC for close to a year and a half. Is that enough? Should I start looking?
I have a feeling it’s not the best time to look now. Things are very unstable. It’s a big recession. I’m sure that I would be able to find a job easily. I do get some offers from time to time. There is one thing, I think things might get worse before they get better. I think I should just stay low for a while, at least till the end of the year and see whether the situation improves. If it does and things start looking up, then I am sure there will be a lot of opportunities out there. If not, hey, it’s not bad here. I get to learn a lot about Javascript. I get to work with cool people. I have a good relationship with my manager.
The one downside, of course, is the lack of challenging work and new technologies. I really lack that. I miss that. Like I said, when things will improve, oppportunities will open up.

  • vacation

I just had a great vacation. We went to Maui and California. Some great times. Possible the best vacation we’ve taken. I will be on a lookoutto go there again, probably for 8-10 days. It’s just great times.

Hawaii is like a dream destination. Things are beatifulthere. Great activities. Lots of things to do. Can’t go wrong with Hawaii. Forsure.

California is different. It was cold for sure. Nice. Butprobably not for me. After visiting it, I would probably not want to stay there. It’s too liberal. Too many rich people and seems like not enough middle class.First feeling is not bad, but not that excited about it.

If I find a great deal to Hawaii in the next couple ofyears, I will most likely go again. Great beaches. I lovedit.
  • allergy

I think the allergy season thisyear went smoother than normal. I am noticing that my immune system is becomingmore and more tolerant of the pollen. It’s now May 13th and I feel that I ammostly allergy free now. I did have a few days when I was sick badly. I even gota cold. Not sure if it was because of that… but still.

In any case, I hope the allergyseason is over. It’s pretty warm now, but we’ll see.
  • birth and learning

I am 31 years old. I got a nicesuprise at work today: a birthday cake! How nice! Really nice surprise. I am ahumble person. I don’t like to be distinguished for no reason. But I really likethis. It was a nice gesture from the company.

We had 3 birthdays, actually.Brad, Victorya and myself. 6,7, and 8th may!

I love setting MITs in themorning. I love accomplishing things that I set for myself. I read the whole OOJS book in a few days! Great pace!

I am also focusing more onreading more at work. It’s working nicely. When I get to work, I just dig in andstart reading. I have discovered a new sense of urgency, new sense for learning.I love it. I love it.

I love to learn, and that’s thebottom line. I always want to be prepared for my next job. I have started doingthat and it’s starting to pay off.
  • 31 years

My birthday is tomorrow. I am 31 now. Do I feel old? I don’tthink so. In fact, from year to year, I don’t think I look much different. Idon’t also feel much older. That’s a good thing. I think I am able to keep itcool. I even think that I look better as I age. My wife certainly thinksso.
  • vacation

My wife wants to go to Hawaii.I am OK with going there. Not that interested, but I guess it would be nice togo. I want to visit the US a bit more. It turns out we can actually combine thetwo and visit Hawaii and San Fran and Denver in one trip! That would be awesome! The only thing is that it will cost! A bit more than 5K probably. But it mightbe worth it and I’m thinking about it. We’ll see if we can actually book it. Ifwe go, it’ll be a great trip, I’m sure about it.
  • weight

I think I’m doing a good jobmaintaining my job weight. It’s not where I want to be, being close to 190pounds, but I have made strides by going down to it from 194 or so. I want to becloser to 185, which I consider my goal and ideal weight. I am eating less, muchless in some cases. It’s a struggle, for sure, but stepping on the scale was themoment of truth. It’s when I discovered I was overweight! It’s amazing, actually.
  • goals

I am finding that the new way of setting goals is working for me so far. I love creating my MITs in the morning. I almost always accomplish what I set to do. The 3 goals are in my mind. And it does feel good when I accomplish them. It’s a bit hectic at work right now so I don’t always get the time I need, but I get enough. I am setting my weekly goals as well and will be reviewing them every week. Thumbs up for the One Goal rule. I am glad I read that book the Power of Less.
My son is sometimes tough to handle. He does not want to listen to us. He wants to play. He does not want to obey commands. But we have to be consistent. He has to do something to get something. Being consitent, name of the game.

  • new ways

I have found a new way ofachieving and striving towards a goal. It’s called a power of less. By focusingon one major goal, I can be focused toward it 100% and I will be able to be moreconcentrated and achieve it. I think it will work for me. I will try it in Apriland see if it works for me. My first goal is to be an expert Javascriptdeveloper. I have many articles to read. I have many books to read. This taskwill not be easy. But it’s easier here at NBC because we’re focused on front endtechnologies. I can get a  lot of practice here and that’s a great thing.

I like the system. I think it’sgoing to help me a great deal. I set 3 MITs every day
